Ayei Ekor George(Mr. Apollo)

Egbizum Ugep/Yakurr L.G.A
Farmer | Entrepreneur | Content Creator | Comedian | Cultural Ambassador

Ayei Ekor George is a man of many pursuits, but one purpose: to create, inspire, and leave a meaningful mark.

Popularly known as Mr Apollo, Ayei is a farmer, entrepreneur, content creator, comedian, and cultural personality whose journey brings together agriculture, creativity, enterprise, and culture. Born on 3rd December in Ugep, Cross River State, he hails from Egbizum, Ikpakapit Ward, Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area.

The son of Ekor George and Alice Ekor George, Ayei was raised with an appreciation for hard work, resilience, responsibility, and community. These values have remained central to the man he has become.

His academic journey began at Dr. Okoi Arikpo Memorial Secondary School, Ugep, and continued at the University of Calabar, where he studied Crop Science and earned a Bachelor of Agriculture. His training in agriculture did more than prepare him for a profession; it strengthened his belief in farming as a pathway to food security, economic opportunity, and sustainable development.

But Ayei’s story does not end in the fields.

Through Mr Apollo, he has carved a space for himself in the world of digital creativity, comedy, and entertainment. Using humour, storytelling, and relatable content, he connects with people while demonstrating that laughter can be both entertaining and influential. His creative journey is driven by a desire not merely to be seen, but to make people feel, think, and smile.

He is also the founder of ApolloGroup, through which he continues to explore entrepreneurship and value creation across different ventures. His ability to move between agriculture, business, and entertainment reflects his belief that a person does not have to be confined to a single definition of success.

In 2015, Ayei became Mr Leboku and Cultural Ambassador, a defining chapter that deepened his connection to the heritage of the Yakurr people. The experience reinforced his conviction that culture is more than tradition—it is identity, memory, pride, and a bridge between generations.

Ambitious, humorous, resilient, innovative, and compassionate, Ayei believes that success is measured not only by what a person achieves, but by what that achievement makes possible for others. He sees setbacks as chapters, not conclusions, and believes that growth often begins where comfort ends.

Away from work and public life, he finds joy in sports, music, travelling, farming, fashion, and reading.

His larger ambition is to build a life that creates value, inspires people, honours his roots, and leaves something meaningful behind. Through agriculture, entrepreneurship, entertainment, and community, he hopes to encourage young people to discover their gifts, pursue them boldly, and understand that their roots do not limit their possibilities—they can become the foundation from which they rise.

He lives by the philosophy:

“Build with purpose, create with passion, and leave every place better than you found it.”

For Ayei Ekor George, the goal is not merely to become successful.

It is to become significant—to build something that outlives him, inspires others, and gives his community something to be proud of.
