I was born into the family of Chief Ikpi Ibiang Mbui, and Mrs. Maria Ikpi Mbui, both of Ugep, Yakurr Local government area of Cross River State.
Mbui John ikpi grew up in the Federal capital Territory of Nigeria, Abuja. There he began his life as a young boy, schooled there from nursery until he finished his secondary education. He further attended Cross River University of Technology, now Cross River State University where he obtained his first degree in Animal Health and Environmental Biology.
He is a Pegeant and fashion Enthusiast. He obtained a High fashion certification from DXC model academy and HXF modeling school.
In 2020, he contested for Mr Leboku and was first Runner up and named, Face of Tourism Leboku. In 2021, he represented Cross River State in Abuja for Mister Diaspora Nigeria, and was crowned winner, Mister Diaspora Nigeria 2021. A title he used to gain access into the Nigeria Pageant industry. In 2024, he returned to the Mr Leboku stage and clinch the title Mr Leboku 2024. This caused a major change for him because as someone who already understood the industry, he maximized the platform and used it for greater purpose up to the point of taking Leboku to the famous 3x Guineas World record holer and Guineas World record Icon, Hilda Baci. He had a one on one conversation with her to tell her about the culture and all there is to know about Leboku.
He currently runs his own Pageant organization — Mister Cross River, an all male centred pageant. He has trained young men to represent the state at national level— Misters of Nigeria, where they are given the opportunity to represent Nigeria at international stage.
As a business entrepreneur, he also runs a cleaning company, Mjis cleaning services who offer a range of cleaning services with Calabar, Lagos and at the point of this documentation will be opening in Abuja.
In general, Mbui John surged further after winning the title Mr Leboku 2024. A platform that has opened opportunities for networking and connections.
